Abstract

The paper includes a study of female sexual vocabulary and violence against women in Catullus's poems. Its shown the female sexual terminology used to refer to women. Words, such as amica, lupa, meretrix, moecha, puella, scortum and scortillum were employed by the poet in the poems which women have more than one sexual partner. These terms are still used in spanish in contexts of violence against women.
