Water distribution systems design and analysis methodologies had been changing over the years with the development of new software and technologies, that not only simplify the analysis, but also turn out to be more accurate. Direct application of new technologies has significantly improved the way that water distribution projects are planned, designed and built. Water network modeling its frequently used nowadays for analysis, infrastructure management and business planning. Latest versions of Water Network Modeling Software integrate Geographic Information’s Systems (GIS). The present investigation shows a theorical and methodological procedure that can be used to simplify water network modeling by capturing and arranging data using GIS, and results obtained in some systems located in Guanacaste in Costa Rica.
