Abstract

RAMIREZ, Roberto Cerdas -. Nutrients extraction and productive behavior of wild sunflower (tithonia diversifolia) with various levels of nitrogen fertilizer. InterSedes [online]. 2018, vol.19, n.39, pp.172-187. ISSN 2215-2458.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/isucr.v19i39.34076.

A study was conducted to evaluate nutrient extraction and productive performance of Wild Sunflower in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, county located at 54 masl, with a 1834 mm annual rainfall. The production of green and dry biomass, content and production of raw protein per hectare and macronutrients extraction of Tithonia, subjected to four nitrogen dosages per year, with cuts of 49 days were evaluated: 100, 200, 300 and 400 kgN.ha-1. The yield of dry biomass varied with the dosage of N applied: 3483, 5482, 5917 and 6297 kgDM.ha-1.cut-1. The production of crude protein was: 355, 692, 758 and 810 kgCP.ha-1.cut-1, with 100, 200, 300 and 400 kgN.ha-1.year-1. All nutrients are presented in suitable animal production quantities. It is recommendable to apply 200 kgN.ha-1.year-1 with cuts of 49 days.

Keywords : Wild sunflower - Tithonia; nitrogen fertilization - protein per hectare - nutrients extraction.
