Abstract

This article summarizes the results of a bibliographical analysis about mobile educational technology; specifically about location-based. the main objective of this study was to identify the minimum characteristics desired on a location-based educational mobile application. Next, it includes a comparative analysis of the characteristics of the educational games frequency 1550, hasleinteractive mobile urban drama and savannah, which are included in this genre. The information was obtained through collection, and comparison of what already existed in documents published in internet and other documentary sources related (thesis, on line magazines, congresses memoirs, among others). based on the investigation findings, conclusions and recommendations where given in regards to the relevance of using these applications as support tools to facilitate the mobile learning processes. main results prove it evident that the three apps generally comply with the purpose for which they were designed, which is to support the mobile learning process through an interactive, multimedia and fun platform and which mainly facilitates a sensitive learning to the context and free of space and time barriers.
