Result of this analysis, the training needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Guanacaste, specifically the cantons of Nicoya, Santa Cruz, Carrillo and Liberia, in order to develop and propose a training plan were determined aims to fill at least some of these needs knowledge of their different functions or processes. The research conducted is descriptive, field, since theoretically it was based on the ideas of the authors Wesley Best (1982) and Mohammad Naghi (2005), among others.  A questionnaire sixteen (16) 120 items aimed at SMEs intentionally selected location and identification was applied.  The results of the research work show that these organizations generally unaware of their administrative processes, life cycles of their product and accounting methods or tools. Even in them there is ignorance about internal control proceses, although total respondents (100 %) believe that trainings are important for the proper performance of their companies. Regarding training priorities, respondents placed their needs in the following order, by areas: administration, financial, tax and legal.  According to the results of the interviews, not all entrepreneurs are willing to pay for a training program. In general, the maximum amount you would be willing to pay ¢ 25,000, and the days that proposed for the trainings are Fridays and Saturdays.
