This article presents an overview of the origin of the courses of the Specific Didactics offered in the West Campus, University of Costa Rica and its purpose within the curricula of the Bachelors in the teaching and learning of the own careers offered. The paper specifically, focuses on the work done in the courses covering the area of the teaching and learning of English, to which it relies on the testimonies of the practicum teachers expressed and collected in written reflections about the pedagogical experience lived, prior to the completion of practice teaching experience, and the meaningful learning achieved by them in both courses.
