GUTIERREZ - GUTIERREZ, Magally e ROJAS - NUNEZ, Patricia. Education Trips: a methodological strategy to articulate theory and practice. InterSedes [online]. 2014, vol.15, n.31, pp.99-114. ISSN 2215-2458.
As an element of the academic process, the career of Preschool Education of the University of Costa Rica at the campus Rodrigo Facio has been implementing for the last 7 years educational trips as a methodological strategy, which have evolved from one day visits, up to stay in the field for 2 or more days with the integration of several courses. From the faculty side, this strategy develops a process of organization that starts with the coordination of the contents, evaluations, task distribution, and the direct work with the students about the actions they will implement. On the students' side, this process allows them to make decisions and take responsibility for the achievement of the proposed objectives. The dynamic of the work allows a dialogue between teachers and students that includes activities before, during and after the educational trip. All this with the intention of taking advantage of the diversity of the learning experiences and then discuss about the pedagogical work. This discussion implies to systematize, socialize, discuss and reflect on the experience, the articulation between the theory and the practice, the impact on both the personal and the professional level and the learning experiences. These serve as input for the improvement and the integration of the knowledge in the curriculum of the career.
