Abstract

CICCIO, José F.. The importance of chemistry: The concept of matter according to the Greek archaic period. InterSedes [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.28, pp.167-191. ISSN 2215-2458.

In this paper, we present some brushstrokes about the importance of chemistry, science, and technology, in everyday life, and in the development of modern society.  From a historic point of view, we describe some ideas about the nature of matter and its changes that were developed primarily in the archaic period and early classical times of Greece.
