The effect of six commercial brands of soap, Cristalin^®, Brasso Antigrasa^®, Barra Extra Verde^®, Doña Blanca Barra^®, Rinso® and Axión Limón^® on the Aulacaspis yasumatsui populations was studied. The number of alive crawlers was significantly lower when using Cristalin^® than with Rinso^® and the control. Significant differences between alive adult females (F = 6.89; P < 0.0001) was found with Barra Extra Verde^® and Cristalin^® compared to the use of the control and Rinso^®. The number of dead adult females differed significantly among treatments when Cristalin^® (F = 6.32; P < 0.0001) was used; an average of 1,500 dead females against 1,000 dead individuals of the other treatments was recorded. The soap Cristalin^® is considered the best option for A. yasumatsui control.
