DOMINGUEZ CARDIEL, Jesús; MUNOZ HURTADO, Juan Manuel  e  FERNANDEZ ALVAREZ, Edgar. Presence and influence of liberalism in the Zacatecas Literary Institute, 1837-1853. REHMLAC [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.1, pp.153-170. ISSN 1659-4223.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/rehmlac.v13i1.43066.

In the middle of the 19th century, the Zacatecas Literary Institute included some practices with a clear liberal influence; as a result, the students became integrated into political life and acted in accordance with the principles received; the professors, although not all members of freemasonry, taught to continue the liberal foundations. When secularized, the rituals of the old seminary were modified, so the students participated and acquired liberal protocols. Finally, the knowledge and rituals applied in the institution demonstrated the influence and presence of liberalism with changes in customs and uses with a clear Masonic presence.
