Abstract

Librarianship current applications for free access to scientific information in the digital environment are presented. By descriptive analysis, some of the current librarianship trends for free access to scientific and academic information on the web. It has been identified that impact applications in the following areas of Library and Information Studies: information technology; systems and library, and information services; information retrieval; access to information. The activities in each area are intended to provide the user library access to information without any restriction, however new information phenomena have arisen through the application of such trends. Thus, this article aims to analyze the current librarianship applications for free access to scientific information through the web.
