Resumen
ZUNIGA-BUSTAMANTE, Jessie. Critical pedagogy and gender discussions: adapting photovoice as a pedagogical tool in humanities. Comunicación [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.2, pp.60-69. ISSN 1659-3820.
Humanities are essential in promoting critical thinking and arousing curiosity for research, as well as encouraging the questioning of realities that shape the social context of students. Photo voice, adapted to the context of the classroom as a pedagogical tool, could offer a more open space for participation, student engagement, and discussion of issues that are controversial and difficult to address for many of them. Likewise, when using photography (or drawing) as a medium, creativity is encouraged, as well as reflection on the use of image to create discourse, to express ideas or social problems, or to capture social reality from a particular perspective.
