ZUNIGA-RIVERA, Mónica. Eroticism, death, and corporeal spaces in Anacristina Rossi’s Marea Alta. Comunicación [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.2, pp.18-27. ISSN 1659-3820.
This article analyzes Marea alta, a short story by Costa Rican author Anacristina Rossi published in 1993. This story evolves within the context of fatal eroticism in its portrayal of violence, decay, obsession, and even rape. The text proposes a pessimistic reading erotic love where evil and ambiguous elements merge with the fantastic and the ominous. Topics such as the femme fatale, infernal spaces, and madness are approached from a tragic perspective, accounting for one of the many manifestations of the contemporary literary production by Central American women.
