CHIRIVELLA, Enrique Cantón; ESQUIVA, Irene Checa  e  GONZALEZ, María Yolanda Vellisca. Competitive Anxiety and Psychological Well-being: the Role of Coping Strategies. Rev. Costarric. Psic [online]. 2015, vol.34, n.2, pp.71-78. ISSN 1659-2913.

Interest in the study of psychological well-being (Ryff, 1989) and its relationship with coping strategies has also occurred in sports. In this study, competitive anxiety, psychological well-being and coping strategies are assessed in 213 athletes competing in four different sports. The results predict, through regression analysis, the possibility of experiencing anxiety and psychological well-being in the competitive context, regulated by the mediator of task-directed coping strategies.

Palavras-chave : anxiety; sports psychology; competition; psychological well-being.
