MORERA-CASTRO, Maria; JIMENEZ-DIAZ, Judith; ARAYA-VARGAS, Gerardo  y  HERRERA-GONZALEZ, Emmanuel. Pictorial Children's Physical Activity Questionnaire: design and validation. Rev. Actual. Investig. Educ [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.2, pp.55-83. ISSN 1409-4703.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/aie.v18i2.33127.

The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates in the report of the 2016, that 81% of children and adolescents do not reach the physical activity recommendation levels and sedentary levels have increased. The purpose of this article was to design the Pictorial Children's Physical Activity Questionnaire (C-PAFI) and assess its psychometric properties. Psychometric properties were calculated from the application of the C-PAFI to a total of 742 scholars, from 9 to 13 years of age. Content validity was established by logical validity (judgment of experts), content validity ratio was 0.99. Moderate reliability was calculated with the Cronbach’s alpha (α = .637). Construct validity was assessed with a factor analysis; one factor was extracted, which explains 70% from the total variance. Criterion validity was assess comparing the C-PAFI values with the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children (PAQ-C). The results showed a moderate validity, assessed by the intra-class correlation coefficient between the C-PAFI and the PAQ-C values (ICC = .741). A reliable and valid questionnaire is presented, to assess the level of physical activity among children of 9-13 years of age, who are in the educational system and have physical education and break time.

Palabras clave : health; childhood; perception; physical activity.
