Abstract

This article shows the results of a research done in 2015, which investigated the characteristics of the persons graduated in Bachelor’s in Business Computing, in the Paraíso premises of the Atlantic headquarters of the University of Costa Rica. Its goal was to check on the current situation of that population regarding its insertion and work permanence, the pertinence of the academic formation and the possible adjustments in the Study Plan. A methodological and quantitative approach was used, with a descriptive scope, based on the use of a survey with 83 persons graduated in the period from 2009 to 2014. The main results indicate that the whole of the population studied at the moment of the survey were working in activities related to the career studied. Also, information on that population was obtained to generate a proposal of aspects which shall improve the study plan in relation to new courses and learnings updated to the current work demands. Finally, the study highlights the importance of the graduate population follow-up, and also the need to obtain information for the strengthening and continuous improvement of the study plans.
