Abstract

The article presents the findings of an investigation on the speeches socioducativa media. The objective of this study was to analyze the main features of the discursive practices of the media coverage of the violence toward the school buildings. This discussion seeks to clarify the challenges to show the youthfulness in the mass media. It is based on the qualitative analysis of a sample comprising of three thousand five hundred and eighty one notes of the newspapers of the city of La Plata in the period 1993-2011. The data source was secondary and conducted a final sample, by selecting the notes that provide information of interest in relation to the aim stipulated. Discourse socioeducational analysis was used as a means of exploring social representations of the message. Among the main findings was that the violence toward the school buildings are still associated with an expressive practice making responsible to young people. These semantic networks invisiblizan the complexity of the condition of youth and to schools as forming institutions. This research extends the empirical basis to think and discuss the difficulty of the representation of the school and its actors in the media, and how through the senses implicit are built certain subject as threatening. It is pertinent to clarify that these analyzes have the limitation that addressed the study from the provincial press and it might be asked whether the journalistic logic would be amended in the national press. It is a substantive contribution to be considered in the curriculum for the education and media literacy for teachers.
