However, in this country, Community Counseling is one of the lesser-developed areas. Looking at these latent needs in the communities and Counseling in regards to said communities, this research was developed as a means to provide spaces for intervention. This article presents the results of the descriptive investigation, under Robert Yin’s case study method, developed to opt for a licentiate’s degree. It took place in 2014, in a prototype community in the metropolitan area. To collect data, the following techniques were used: individual and group interviews, document analysis, and observation. We identified conceptual elements, processes, and facilitating conditions in a community, to put Counseling methods and actions into practice, in the context of a Costa Rican community. Thus concluding that community intervention is feasible, as it can use existing spaces in organized groups. And another result is the support of a unique definition of Community Counseling which includes combined aid processes that favor community life and the lives of each member
