Abstract

MURILLO AGUILAR, Osvaldo  and  ARGUEDAS NEGRINI, Irma. Counseling in the Context of Uncertainty: Promotion of Hope During Adolescence. Rev. Actual. Investig. Educ [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.1, pp.734-752. ISSN 1409-4703.

Due to the reduction of access to opportunities for development, social scientists agree that the adolescent population faces uncertainty. The hope is a structural vital element and it has been defined here as certainty of possibilities in people's lives. That is why this paper addresses ways in order to promote hope through counseling and educational interventions, which integrate the satisfactions of needs related to holistic development during adolescence, with values that allow the realization of life meaning. The initial proposal was enriched by professionals in Guidance and Counseling with an expertise in the work with adolescent population that participated in a focus group. It is concluded that given the relationship between life meaning and hope, the enhancement of the latter in adolescents could be a common denominator in diverse Counseling processes. The articulation that is proposed can be applied in individual, group and community projects, for purposes of development as well as prevention.
