The Relaciones Geograficas of the sixteenth century (1579-1586) was a scientific project aimed recognizing the reality of the New Word; was the conclusion of a series undertaken by Spain attempts to recognize and systematically began his empire from Columbu´s voyages to continue to throughout the Colonial period. This particular project administered questionnaire including geographical, cartographic, historical and anthropological issues, with the protagonist to the residents of the places that were described. Addition, these descriptions combine traditional and oral knowledge with the Hispanic culture.
