Aim:
This study assesses the quality of life of hospital nursing workers and their relationship with sociodemographic and work characteristics.
Methods:
The study was carried out on 68 nursing workers. The data collection instruments were a questionnaire with a socio-demographic and work profile and the Whoqol-bref Scale.
Results:
The results showed that 80.6% were female; 54.4% were married, 47.8% were nurses; and 56.1% were white. A total of 89.7% had a weekly workload of 36 hours, and 36.8% of them worked at night. For nursing technicians, the social relations domain had the highest average perception of quality of life; among nurses, it was the physical domain. The results showed that nursing technicians and nurses had a regular quality of life.
Conclusion:
It was concluded that it is necessary to strengthen health promotion actions for these workers in order to enhance the perception of quality of life.
