Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the level of physical activity and quality of life of bank workers. This is a quantitative and cross-sectional descriptive study of 36 bank workers of the town of Jequié. To collect the level of physical activity, it was used the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) that evaluates the practice this activity during 1 week. To evaluate the quality of life was used the WHOQOL-bref that considers 4 areas for the assessment: physical, psychological, social relationships and environment. The data were tabulated and analyzed using descriptive and simple statistics in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21.0. Among the results, it was found that 66,7% (n=24) of bank workers were classified as physically inactive. Regarding the evaluation of the Quality of Life, it was observed that the bank workers showed a better perception of Quality of Life in the physical domain (82,1) and worst perception in environment domain (59,3). It is concluded that based on this study it was posible the understanding about de physical activity level in which there was a predominance of physically inactive workers and it can influence their quality of life in the physical and environment domains.
