Dysautonomia and Chagas disease

The “dysautonomic syndrome” is an important component of chagasic myocardiopathy. A brief review of its pathogenesis is presented, which involves the direct interaction of the parasite, inflammation and autoimmunity, determined in turn by the genetics of the parasite and the host; as well as its main clinical manifestations.
