Introduction. Electrophysiological cardiac catheterization have been used for diagnostic purposes and for detection of anatomic circuits of different taquiarrhythmias, suitable for ablation procedures. The objetive of this study is to show performed cases to date. Material and Methods. We included patients with current indications for electrophysiological studies or catheter ablation procedures. We used multiple intracardiac electrodes for signal adquisition and chamber stimulation and to apply radiofrequency energy. Results. We made 19 procedures (5 diagnostic and 14 therapeutic), ages between 16 and 86 years old, 6 men and 12 women. Diagnostic studies were made in 3 patientes with syncope, one with sustained ventricular tachycardia and one with frequent ventricular ectopy. Ablation procedures were made in 3 patients with atrioventricular node reentrant tachycardia (100% success), 10 with accessory pathways (90% success) and one of the atriventricular node because fast response atrial fibrillation paroxisms. We had one recurrence (follow-up 2 to 38 weeks) and one complication (pericardial efussion). Conclusions. These procedures are safe, supplies important diagnostic information and curative therapy with high sucsess rate and low complication rate in patients with different cardiac rythm disorders.
