COSIO DUENAS, Herbert; VALDERRAMA MAMANI, Yaneth Rosario; LAZO OTAZU, Liceth  and  HOLGADO CANALES, María Guadalupe. Social Skills and Burnout Syndrome in Dentists of the Ministry of Health in a region of Peru. Rev. costarric. salud pública [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.2, pp.199-212. ISSN 1409-1429.

The objective was to determine the relationship of Social Skills and Burnout Syndrome in Dentists of the Ministry of Health. The deductive method was used, with relational scope. The sample consisted of 60 Dentists working in the Ministry of Health of the Apurimac Region, by means of a random probabilistic sampling stratified by gender. The information gathering technique was by clusters. The hypothesis test was checked by means of the Pearson parametric correlation statistic, to analyze the two variables measured in interval. The result was higher social skills, the lower the Burnout Syndrome in the Dentists of the Ministry of Health, a Pearson correlation of -0.696 was obtained with a determination factor of 0.675. It is concluded that there is an inversely proportional association between Social Skills and Burnout Syndrome in dentistry professionals. On the other hand, social skills are associated inversely proportional to the fatigue or emotional exhaustion dimension, as well as to the depersonalization dimension of Burnout Syndrome; on the other hand social skills are not associated with the personal relationship dimension of Burnout Syndrome
