ALMANZA VASQUEZ, Edilber; PUELLO MENDOZA, Esteban  e  ALMANZA MEZA, Edilber. Coexisting with Dengue: Integrated Vector Control. Rev. costarric. salud pública [online]. 2013, vol.22, n.2, pp.104-112. ISSN 1409-1429.

Objective: To demonstrate dengue will remain endlessly in humanity and pose alternatives for controlling the vector, thus the disease. Methods: Through qualitative analysis of a system of ordinary differential equations including biological control in the larval stage, vectors behave and diseases’ behavior in a second. Results: Maintaining an appropriatemanagement of vector nexus with serotype-infected-person, can generate stable equilibrium, avoiding that each outbreak becomes more virulent. The only way to reduce dengue-infection is to prevent the vectors from contacting with people. Conclusion: If an adequate control at all stages of growth of dengue vectors is not maintained, it will never be possible to control the disease and it will appear regularly, even if vectors or disease disappear for short periods of time.
