The prevalence of overweight and obesity have increased in several countries around the world, including Costa Rica, affecting not only adults but also children and young people, which usually affects health and increases morbidity and the risk of deat h from cardiovascular complications.
The pathophysiological mechanisms by which obesity causes cardiovascular disease are well known for the most part, however, there is a diagnosis of “Heart Disease by obesity”. That pathology can result in death even in the absence of other diseases and associated mechanisms such as high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus or coronary heart disease.
There will be two cases of autopsy performed in 2014 to 2015, in the Forensic Pathology Section of the Forensic Medicine
Department, about young adult men who were diagnosed with heart disease by obesity within the causes of death, its management and relevant findings at the macroscopic and microscopic level
