Cocaine use in Costa Rica in any of their presentations is a growing public health and public safety since the early 80’s. Complications from their use have a considerable impact on human resource utilization and cost of our health system and the complexity of management is clear: it is very important associated with sudden death in young patients without risk factors who have acute myocardial infarction and violent death, such as homicides, suicides and accidents, these are just two ends of the spectrum of conspicuous pathology associated with cocaine use, we face daily. This article discribed a case of autopsy in the Forensic Pathology Section of Judicial Investigation, which was demonstrated with cocaine intoxication and outlines in detail the histopathological findings of this drug, and a review literature.
