Abstract
CHACON BARQUERO, Lawrence and VALERIO HERNANDEZ, Mayela. Miocardiopatía por estrés como causa de muerte súbita durante un asalto: presentación de un caso y revisión del tema. Med. leg. Costa Rica [online]. 2011, vol.28, n.2, pp. 65-68. ISSN 1409-0015.
The sudden death of a person during an assault or physical attack is of great importance and interest in the scope of forensic medicine because of the questions that are generated all around the determination of the cause and manner of death, especially in those whose injuries alone do not warrant their death. In these special cases transcends the stress cardiomyopathy as an hypothesis to be tested. Currently, this pathology is widely described both in terms of curative medicine as in forensic pathology, and in the latter, its objective demonstration is essential to meet the criteria of causality. This article describes the management of a case valued at the Forensic Pathology Section of the Department of Legal Medicine in Costa Rica.
