It is important to have knowledge from the viewpoint of Forensic Medicine of drugs in general, the use and abuse them, as well as the clinical and toxic doses each possesses. This review aims to refresh the knowledge available about cocaine, because as expert evaluators of the cases in which is required to determine a person’s addiction or in the case of the dead where they suspect the use of it, it is essential that we know to determine the clinical manifestations, symptoms or signs that develop in the body after acute or chronic use of the drug.
