Blood products used on medical practice can be of great benefit, however they are not harmless, the risks associated to their use force the clinician to take into account therapeutic indication. So it is a priority for the physician to be aware of the legislation concerning patients’ rights and medical acquired responsibility every time their patients’ life is involved. The physician’s main legal defense consist on assertive communication with his/her patient; it should involve direct and clear information which is supported by an informed consent.
