It was seek to analyze the applications of US and its validity as a tool on the prediction of the pregnancy outcome. Since US is vital as a diagnostic tool, is very important for patients as well as for physicians to know its reach. Because of these a survey was applied to a hundred pregnant women patients of Adolfo Carit Eva Womens Hospital. It was observed that the general perception was that obstetric US is mainly used to determine the fetuss sex and not as a medical indication as it is established. For this reason it is necessary to educate the general population about this methods limitations.
