Abstract

CAMPOS C, Patricia et al. Las mujeres ignoradas de la psicología. Med. leg. Costa Rica [online]. 2004, vol.21, n.2, pp.101-132. ISSN 2215-5287.

When we analyze the history of Science in general and the history of Psychology in particular, we find that women have been participants in its development since long ago. However, their contributions and their role have been frequently ignored by historians, other times deliberately hidden behind the masculine figures of their husband, professors, etc. In other cases, determined women, that in her own time enjoyed the general recognition within the scientific community, started to disappear from the memories of the scientific historians. This essay pretends to rescue from oblivion some of these amazing women, with the hope that others feel inspired to make a more just lecture of that the we call the History of Science.

Keywords : History of Science; Psychology; women; contributions; ignored; hidden; disappearing; psychoanalysis.
