Resumen

CARCEDO CABANAS, Ana. Diagnósticos y valoraciones sicológicas de las mujeres maltratadas: los riesgos revictimizantes. Med. leg. Costa Rica [online]. 2004, vol.21, n.2, pp.71-84. ISSN 2215-5287.

Violence against women has been a long-standing problem, as ancient as society itself, but up to three decades ago it remained hidden behind the cultural mechanisms aided by the news calling this matter "Current events". In this way, it’s character of being a social problem was denied and it was reduced to a private issue that women live. Making this hidden reality visible, required years of work; new linguistic terms had to be created to point out the differences manifestations of the occult violence: physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence, patrimonial violence, incest, sexual harassment, femicide, re victimization; Terms and concepts, which were not only new, but were also unthinkable, such as the rape inside the marriage. Nevertheless, this reality turned into a nightmare, violence against the women, which in the 90´s made seen by feminist organizations, a decade later, is an object of work of the institutions but at the sane time, these instruments of study have been recycled in favor of the dominant relationships of men and the institutions against the women and the institutions’ users. What the professional labels such as "learned handicap syndrome", only confuse the authorities when they assign a value like a "new disabilities of women", revictimizing by not understanding that the problem is not intra psychic but social. Professionals can help if they understood that the handicap or disabled is the political and social structure of the society against women, instead of the psychical capacity of the women who fights for her rights.

Palabras clave : Hidden violence; physical violence; psychological violence; sexual violence; patrimonial violence; incest; sexual harassment; femicide; revictimization; intrapsychic.
