Abstract

MAIRENA NAVARRO, Marco  and  ZAMORA MONTES, Ramón. Aspectos médico legales de la clonación humana. Med. leg. Costa Rica [online]. 2002, vol.19, n.2, pp.23-43. ISSN 2215-5287.

The techniques of assisted reproduction, among them human cloning, rises ethical questions. Their use promises benefits for humanity and, specifically for infertile couples, the satisfaction of being parents. This article discusses the regulations and juridical implications of this activity, trying to take us into the actual international and national reality. lt is argued that human cloning promotes human life and dignity. In addition, it is proposed that this technique is best understood not in moralistic terms, but rather in terms of contexts that respond to real life situations, specifically an ethics of responsibility.

Keywords : Human cloning; conception; fecundation; fertilization; ovule; Bioethics; nasciturus; human genome; DNA; responsibility.
