Abstract

The professional exhaustion syndrome has been described as emotional weannes, which takes to a lack of motivation an progresses towards feelings of inadecuation and failure. It is manifested in three symptoms. 1. Emotional exhaustion. 2. Despersonlization 3. Feeling of personal realization. It is a continuos process with an insidious, slow beginning wich occure in the working context. The causes are as multiple as the causes of stress in the work environment. The assistencial professions are the most affected, initially in the workers of social-sanitary services, but it can happen, as well, in any profession involving people. The syndrome has conduct, attitude an psycosomatic manifestations.
