CUEVAS BADENES, Joaquín et al. Marcadores biológicos en el alcohólico actual. Med. leg. Costa Rica [online]. 1998, vol.15, n.1-2, pp.07-11. ISSN 2215-5287.

When we study about any essay about alcoholism, the big repercussion that alcohol produces on the organism is throw into relief, and it has an effect on tissues, organs and systems. This research is  a study of a present population of alcoholics which target has been to reflect the analytic modifications produced on it by the consumption of ethane. 170 subjects admited in the Curing Of Drug Addiction Hospitable Unit in the Psyquiatric Provincial Hospital in Bétera (Valencia, Spain), have been under consideration for 7 months. Between all the parameters of laboratory, we have considered the following variables: age, sex, consumption of alcohol, sideremy, VCM, GGT, GOT, GPT, Alkaline phosphate. We have got the following outcome: an increase of sideremy in a proportion of 40%, an interesting information because of the two following facts: the first one because the records of treatment are being used for alcoholic, with a prescription of ferric supplement originating an excess of this mineral and making worse the clinical case, and the increase of sideremy can have a leading role in the physiopathology of the alcoholism; an important increase or the VCM related to the increase of the increase of the age of male and an average daily consumption of 273g, of pure alcohol.

Keywords : alcoholism; biologic markers; sideremy; consumption of alcohol.
