A study was performed to characterize the associates of three agricultural organizations.

The organizations studied corresponded to Agricultural Producers Association of the cantons of Acosta and Aserri ( ASOPROAAA ) , The Association of Organic Families of Caraigres Hills ( AFAORCA ) and the Association of Beekeepers of the Caraigres Region ( APICARAIGRES ) all these located in the cantons of Acosta , Aserri , Desamparados, Leon Cortes and Corralillo , to the south of San Jose.

The study aimed to characterize both agricultural production chains and farmers taking part of them.

It was also intended to identify the different links within partners in their organization. It emphasized on the productive relations and the underlying structures in the relations of production.
