Abstract

ALVARADO-AGUAYO, Allan; PILALOA-DAVID, Wilmer; TORRES-SANCHEZ, Sinthya  and  TORRES-SANCHEZ, Kevin. Trichoderma harzianum effect on mildew control (Pseudoperonospora cubensis) in cucumber crops. Agron. Costarricense [online]. 2019, vol.43, n.1, pp.101-111. ISSN 0377-9424.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/rac.v43i1.35672.

This research measured the effect of Trichoderma harzianum on mildew control (Pseudoperonospora cubensis) in cucumber crops (Cucumis sativus L.). A random complete block design (RCBD) relied on 5 treatments and 4 repetitions was carried out in Vainillo of El Triunfo city, Guayas province, Ecuador. The variables analyzed were: infection of mildew percentage, treatment efficiency, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit per plant ratio, yield (kg per plant) and economic analysis. Once the test was carried out, the presence of mildew disease was verified, obtaining the highest percentage of efficacy (84.4%) in the control of treatments with Benomyl 50 WP, 400 g.ha-1 and treatment with Tricho D 500 g.ha-1 with 84.24% of efficacy. The best benefit cost ratio was the treatment with Benomyl 50 WP, 400 g.ha-1 with 1.53 and treatment Tricho D.500 g.ha-1 with 1.50. It is recommended for the control of mildew in cucumber crops should apply T. harzianum in doses of 500 g.ha-1.
