Abstract
CASTRO A., Virya and MONTVELISKY K, Herman. Salpingitis tuberculosa: informe de un caso. Rev. costarric. cienc. méd [online]. 1998, vol.19, n.3-4, pp.232-236. ISSN 0253-2948.
In recent years, the incidence of tuberculosis has increased due to the HIV pandemia, migrations, worsening of economic conditions, etc. Genital tuberculosis is a disease with unspecific or absent symptoms which makes diagnosis dificult. Infertility, amenorrea, abnormal uterine bleeding or a pelvic mass are the most frecuent manifestations. Microscopic examination and culture of infected body fluids and /or tissue are necessary for definite diagnosis. Freguently, diagnosis is made after surgery for other reasons. We present the case of a 40 year old patient with primary sterility who is taken to surgery for bilateral hidrosalpinx. Final diagnosis was tuberculous salpingitis.
