She suffered an acute abdominal pain episode associated with tenderness that required an exploratory laparotomy. A thrichobezoar was found in the stomach which was associated with a Rapunzel Syndrome Rapunzel Syndrome consists in the formation of a hair- ball or trichobezoar that later develops a hairy tail that extends through the bowel. This produces an achordeon effect resulting in bowel necrosis.
