La noción de la transculturación narrativa fue postulada por el crítico uruguayo Ángel Rama y es frecuentemente utilizada en el ámbito de la crítica literaria. Sin embargo, hay pocos estudios que la entrelazan con la especificidad de la literatura para niños y niñas lectores. Este artículo, a través de la metodología de análisis textual, intenta mostrar cómo, sin renunciar del todo al regionalismo, se inicia un intento de transculturación narrativa en dos libros de cuentos infantiles: Cuentos de la selva y Los cuentos de mi Tía Panchita. En ellos, Horacio Quiroga y Carmen Lyra, respectivamente, desarrollan, en mayor o menor medida, mecanismos propios en los tres niveles textuales señalados por Rama: la lengua, la estructuración narrativa y la cosmovisión (1982, p. 47). Además, nos interesa destacar también cómo en estas obras se aprecia una combinación entre el estilo regionalista y el uso de elementos maravillosos.

The notion of transculturation was postulated by the Uruguayan critic Angel Rama and is frequently used in the field of literary criticism. However, there are few studies that intertwine it with the specificity of literature for children. This article, through the methodology of textual analysis, attempts to show how, without completely renouncing regionalism, an attempt at narrative transculturation begins in two books of children's stories: Cuentos de la selva and Los cuentos de mi Tía Panchita. In them, Horacio Quiroga and Carmen Lyra, respectively, develop, to a greater or lesser extent, their own mechanisms at the three textual levels indicated by Rama: language, narrative structure and worldview (1982, p. 47). In addition, we are also interested in highlighting how, in these works a combination between the regionalist style and the use of marvelous elements can be seen.
