Objetivou-se conhecer as estratégias de coping adotadas pelos profissionais de saúde durante a pandemia da COVID-19. Método. Pesquisa de desenho exploratório. Participaram 155 profissionais de saúde do nordeste brasileiro, em sua maioria do Piauí (39.1%) e Ceará (22.5%), com idade média de 33.26 anos (DP = 7.94) e do sexo feminino (68.2%). Resultados. Por meio de uma Classificação Hierárquica Descendente (CHD), o corpus principal se segmentou em duas ramificações: “Classe 1: suporte socioemocional e espiritualidade” e “Classe 2: atividades de entretenimento”, mostrando que os profissionais utilizavam estratégias de coping com foco no problema e na emoção. Aponta-se a importância do contato social, espiritualidade e entretenimento para o bem-estar emocional.<hr/>Abstract Objective. The objective was to know the coping strategies adopted by health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method. This was an exploratory research. The participants were 155 health professionals (female 68.2, male 31.8) from northeastern Brazil, mostly from Piauí (39.1%) and Ceará (22.5%), and a mean age of 33.26 years (SD = 7.94). Results. Through a Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD), the main corpus was divided into two branches: Class 1: Socio-emotional support and spirituality, and Class 2: Entertainment activities, showing that professionals used coping strategies with a focus on the problem and emotion. They pointed out the importance of social contact, spirituality, and entertainment for emotional well-being. <![CDATA[Crenças sobre a violência conjugal: uma explicação a partir dos valores humanos]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200013&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumo Objetivo. O presente trabalho objetivou conhecer a relação entre valores humanos e crenças sobre a violência conjugal. Método. Contou com uma amostra composta por 202 sujeitos da população geral da cidade de Parnaíba-PI, com uma média de idade de 28,52 anos (DP = 10,33). Estes responderam as seguintes escalas: Escala de Crenças sobre a Violência Conjugal (ECVC), Questionário de Valores Básicos (QVB-18) e um Questionário Sociodemográfico. O software SPSS (versão 22) auxiliou na execução das análises descritivas, correlação (r de Pearson), e regressão (Métodos Stepwise). Resultados. Os resultados apontaram que as subfunções Interativa, Suprapessoal, e Existência apresentam correlações significativas e inversas com todas as dimensões da ECVC; ou seja, ratificam a capacidade dos valores humanos de explicarem construtos sociais, como a violência conjugal.<hr/>Abstract Objective. The The present work aimed to discover the relationship between human values and beliefs about marital violence. Method. The sample was composed by 202 subjects from the general population of the city of Parnaíba-PI. The average age was 28.52 years (SD = 10.33). They were administered the following instruments: Belief on Marital Violence Scale (BMVS), Basic Values ​​Questionnaire (BVQ-18), and a Socio-demographic Questionnaire. The SPSS software (version 22) assisted in the execution of descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation (r), and regression (Stepwise Methods). Results. The results showed that the Interactive, Suprapersonal, and Existence subfunctions present significant and inverse correlations with all dimensions of BMVS; they ratify the ability of human values to explain social constructs such as marital violence. <![CDATA[Daily spiritual experiences scale psychometric analysis among argentinian adolescents and young adults]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200027&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumen Objetivo. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Experiencias Espirituales Diarias (DSES). Se analiza específicamente la consistencia interna, la discriminación de los ítems, la estructura factorial exploratoria y confirmatoria, y la validez constructiva. Método. Se conformó una muestra de 692 adolescentes y jóvenes entre los 12 y los 28 años. Se aplicó además la Escala de Experiencias Espirituales Diarias y la dimensión bienestar emocional de la Escala Multidimensional de Flourishing. Resultados. Se evidenciaron ítems discriminativos y buena consistencia interna. Se comprobó la estructura unifactorial, y se halló correlación entre la espiritualidad y el bienestar emocional, lo cual respalda la validez constructiva. Se concluye que la DSES presenta adecuadas propiedades psicométricas que apoyan su uso para la evaluación de la espiritualidad en adolescentes y jóvenes argentinos.<hr/>Abstract Objective. The present work aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES), specifically analyzing the internal consistency, the discrimination of the items, the exploratory and confirmatory factorial structure, and the constructive validity. Method. A sample of 692 adolescents and young adults aged between 12 and 28 years old was collected. In addition, the Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale and the emotional well-being dimension of the Multidimensional Flourishing Scale were applied. Results. Discriminatory items and good internal consistency were evidenced. The unifactorial structure was verified, and a correlation between spirituality and emotional well-being was found, which supports the construct's validity. It is concluded that the DSES has adequate psychometric properties that support its use for the evaluation of spirituality in Argentine adolescents and young adults. <![CDATA[The role of growth mindset in elementary school children's performance]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200042&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumen Objetivo. Estudiar la relación entre el tipo de mentalidad y el desempeño en comprensión lectora y aritmética de 247 estudiantes de 9 a 12 años de edad de dos escuelas de Argentina. Método. Los participantes completaron un cuestionario basado en una Escala de Mentalidad de Crecimiento y pruebas estandarizadas de comprensión lectora y cálculo aritmético. Además, se utilizaron las calificaciones escolares proporcionadas por docentes y datos sobre el estatus social (ES) aportados por padres/cuidadores. El diseño fue no experimental y transversal. Resultados. Los análisis de regresión jerárquica mostraron que a mayor mentalidad de crecimiento, mejor desempeño escolar, aún al controlar el efecto del ES. La relación del desempeño con las calificaciones fue más fuerte que con las pruebas estandarizadas.<hr/>Abstract Objective. The aim of the paper was to study the relation between mindset and reading comprehension and arithmetic performance of 247 students aged 9 to 12 years from two schools in Argentina. Method. Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire based on a Growth Mindset Scale, and standardized tests of reading comprehension and arithmetic calculation. In addition, school grades provided by teachers and social status data provided by parents/caregivers were used. The design was non-experimental and cross-sectional. Results. Hierarchical regression analyzes showed that the higher the growth mindset, the better the school performance, even when controlling for the effect of social status on these variables. The relation of performance with grades was stronger than with standardized tests. <![CDATA[Factors affecting social participation in adults with traumatic brain injury: A systematic review]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200058&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumen Objetivo La participación social es el acto de involucrarse en actividades que proporcionan interacciones con otras personas, y puede verse afectada en personas que han sufrido un traumatismo craneoencefálico (TCE). Este trabajo propone identificar qué factores influyen en dicha afectación. Método. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de artículos disponibles en PubMed, EBSCO y SCOPUS, publicados desde 2010 hasta 2020. Resultados. Los artículos revisados concuerdan que la participación social de los pacientes adultos con TCE se ve afectada por las siguientes variables: síntomas depresivos, edad, nivel educativo, alteraciones cognitivas y calidad de vida. Finalmente, se observó que la evaluación de la participación social está focalizada en la frecuencia con que los pacientes realizan actividades sociales y no indagan en la satisfacción personal con el nivel de participación.<hr/>Abstract. Objective. Social participation is the act of getting involved in activities that provide interactions with other people and can be impaired in individuals who suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). This study aims to identify which factors influence social participation after TBI. Method. A systematic review of articles available in PubMed, EBSCO, and SCOPUS, published from 2010 to 2020 was conducted. Results. Revised articles conclude that social participation in adult patients with TBI is affected by the following variables: depressive symptoms, age, educational level, cognitive impairment, and quality of life. Finally, the focus of the assessment of social participation was the frequency with patients carrying out social activities and not the personal satisfaction with their level of participation. <![CDATA[COVID Stress Scales (CSS): evidências psicométricas no contexto brasileiro]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200073&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumo Objetivo. Adaptar a COVID Stress Scales (CSS), reunindo evidências psicométricas, e verificar o padrão de relação com ansiedade frente a COVID-19. Método. Foram realizados dois estudos com participantes de diferentes estados brasileiros. No primeiro (n = 423) a análise fatorial exploratória sugeriu uma estrutura pentafatorial. No segundo (n = 300) executou-se uma análise fatorial confirmatória testando modelo pentafatorial. Resultado. Reuniram-se evidências de validade convergente e discriminante. A correlação de Pearson (r) que evidenciou relações positivas e estatisticamente significativas entre ansiedade e o estresse frente a COVID, indicando validade baseada em medida externa. Ademais, constatou-se consistência interna satisfatória em ambos os estudos. Conclui-se que o CSS é válida e fidedigna, podendo auxiliar na avaliação de indivíduos com estresse ocasionado pela pandemia da COVID e seus correlatos.<hr/>Abstract Objective. Adapt the COVID Stress Scales (CSS), gathering psychometric evidence, and to verify the pattern of relationship with anxiety compared to COVID-19. Method. Two studies were carried out with participants from different Brazilian states. In the first (n = 423) the exploratory factor analysis suggested a pentafactorial structure. In the second (n = 300), a confirmatory factor analysis was performed, testing a pentafactorial model. Evidence of convergent and discriminant validity was gathered. Pearson's correlation (r) was performed, which showed positive and statistically significant relationships between anxiety and stress in the face of COVID, indicating validity based on external measure. Results. Satisfactory internal consistency was found in both studies. It is concluded that the CSS is valid and reliable and can assist in the assessment of individuals with stress caused by the COVID pandemic and its correlated factors. <![CDATA[Relacionamentos durante a quarentena: as justificativas para aceitar o abuso psicológico em mulheres]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200087&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumo Objetivo. Analisar o papel das atitudes frente a convivência conjugal durante o período da quarentena, como justificativa da relação entre as ideologias baseadas no tradicionalismo e a aceitação do abuso psicológico em mulheres. Método. Esta pesquisa é do tipo transversal e foi realizada de forma online com 260 mulheres oriundas de diferentes regiões do Brasil. Resultado. Os resultados demonstraram efeitos positivos e significativos (efeito indireto = .14; SE = .04; IC 95% .05; .22), sugerindo que as mulheres, que endossam mais ideologias tradicionalistas, utilizam mais justificativas, por meio da quarentena, e aceitam mais o abuso psicológico. Essa mesma relação ocorreu nas estratégias diretas e indiretas do abuso psicológico. Logo, este estudo apresentou evidências preliminares acerca de um possível reforçador do abuso psicológico.<hr/>Abstract Objective. This online cross-sectional research aimed to analyze the role of attitudes towards conjugal coexistence, during the period of quarantine, as a justification of the relationship between ideologies based on traditionalism and the acceptance of psychological abuse on women. Method. For this purpose, 260 women from different regions of Brazil were studied. Results. The results showed positive and significant effects (mediated effect = .14; SE = .04; 95% CI .05; .22), suggesting that women who endorse more traditionalist ideologies use more justifications, through quarantine, and are more accepting of psychological abuse. This same relationship occurred in the direct and indirect strategies of psychological abuse. Therefore, this study presented preliminary evidence about a possible reinforcer of psychological abuse. <![CDATA[Toward a Possible Reassessment of Causes and Protecting Strategies Underlying the Dynamic of Parental Burnout in Costa Rica]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200100&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Abstract Objective. This study aims to reach an initial understanding of some specific cultural characteristics of parental burnout in Costa Rica. The findings stem from analyzing specific family configurations of parental burnout during parenting. Method. An intentional sample of 146 mothers and 102 fathers (n= 248, mean age 37) was selected. They completed a questionnaire regarding socio-demographics, Parental burnout assessment, Gender roles, Independent-interdependent Self, Involvement in parental function and duties, and the Parental goals and values. Results. there is a low prevalence of parental burnout and an average level of individualism in parenting. Although the study failed to identify high degrees of parental burnout in the Costa Rican sampled parents, which tend to be rather moderate or low in comparison with other countries, there seems to be an initial tendency of some type of family toward increasing burnout as well as noteworthy traits of familial dynamics that might function as mitigating or even protective factors against parental burnout.<hr/>Resumen Objetivo. Avanzar en la comprensión de las características culturales específicas del agotamiento parental en Costa Rica al analizar configuraciones familiares específicas del agotamiento parental durante la crianza. Método. Se seleccionó una muestra intencional de 146 madres y 102 padres con una media de edad de 37 años. Los participantes completaron un cuestionario que indagó en variables sociodemográficas y las medidas parental burnout assessment, Gender Roles, Independent-interdependent Self, Involvement in parental Function and Duties y Parental Goals and Values. Resultados. Una baja prevalencia de agotamiento parental y un rol importante del individualismo moderado en la crianza. Se concluye que, aunque no se logró detectar un alto grado de agotamiento parental en la muestra de padres y madres, quienes mostraron moderados y bajos niveles de agotamiento en comparación con otros países. Se halló una tendencia inicial hacia un aumento del agotamiento en algunos tipos de familia, además de dinámicas familiares que parecen funcionar como factores atenuantes e incluso protectores contra al agotamiento parental. <![CDATA[Fatores de risco psicossociais no trabalho de gestores: revisão sistemática]]> http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2215-35352022000200118&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumen Objetivo. Este estudo objetiva sistematizar e avaliar a produção científica nacional e internacional acerca dos fatores de risco psicossociais presentes no trabalho de gestores e como estes afetam sua saúde. Método. Realizou-se uma revisão sistemática da literatura. Foram seguidas as diretrizes do Protocolo PRISMA - Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses. Resultados. Verificou-se que os gestores estão expostos a riscos psicossociais relacionados às categorias tipo e produção de tarefas e saúde e bem-estar. A exposição a estes fatores de risco pode desencadear alterações físicas e mentais na saúde. Foram identificadas ações de intervenção e seus resultados, bem como a necessidade de desenvolvimento de ações de prevenção e promoção de saúde mental voltadas para gestores.<hr/>Abstract Objective. This study aims to systematize and evaluate the national and international scientific production about the psychosocial risk factors present in the work of managers and how these affect their health. Method. A systematic review of the literature was done. For its development, the guidelines for conducting a systematic review proposed by the PRISMA Protocol - Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses were followed. Results. After the process of refining the results, it was found that managers are exposed to psychosocial risks related to the categories types, and production of tasks and health and well-being. The exposure to these risk factors can trigger physical and mental changes in the health of these workers, requiring prevention and mental health promotion actions.
