Revista Enfermería Actual en Costa Rica (ISSN 1409-4568) is one of the official journals of the University of Costa Rica (UCR), and is endorsed by the office of the vice-president of Research. Aims to publish scientific production in the field of healthcare, particularly in Nursing, both nationally and internationally, allowing researchers to share their findings, and readers to gauge the broad work of the discipline, as well as its impact and relation to other disciplines.

Founded in 2000, REVENF is a pioneer in the dissemination of scientific knowledge in electronic format in the field of Nursing at a national level. Since then, it has produced uninterrupted publications every six months, where the first issue is published from January 1 to June 30 and the second issue from July 1 to December 31.

Is considered as a resource to support teaching, research, community outreach and to enable professionals in the health field to share their academic work with the scientific community and people interested in health care topics produced by research, reviews, or reflections.
