INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Scope and policy

Journal scope

Its aim is to spread scientific production in all fields of psychological science and related sciences. This is accomplished by publishing original and unpublished articles that disclosed results of empirical research, theoretical and methodological contributions.

Form and preparation of manuscripts

Those interested in publishing in Psychology News manuscripts sent to the Directorate of the magazine through the OJS, in Microsoft Word format (* .doc, * .docx) or OpenOffice Writer (* .odt). Manuscripts submitted must be original, meaning that the original text is unpublished and created by the author / s.


Shipments must be accompanied by an additional file indicating the nape of the / a or / the author (s), as used in the references and institutional affiliation. The first nape on the list of authors (as) will be considered author (a) principal and responsible for liaison with News in Psychology.


Additional file must include a statement of authenticity of authorship and originality of the manuscript, a specification that this has not been sent simultaneously to another journal and a statement of grant of copyright (a) on the manuscript Psychology News . In the sape file the auspices under which the investigation and clarification if the results of the investigation have been previously presented at academic events took place is indicated.


Empirical studies as well as the theoretical and methodological revisions should have a maximum of 7000 words. The systematization of experiences and book reviews should have a maximum of 2500 words, the text should be submitted double-spaced with font Times New Roman size 12.


Tables and figures should be submitted at the end of text, each on separate sheets and under the APA Manual (2010). Also in the text it should indicate the precise place in which to be inserted therein.


The report of statistical data in the results section should follow the APA Manual (3rd edition in Spanish).


On the first page of the manuscript running title and the full title (in the original language and in English) is indicated. On the second page a "summary" will be presented in the original language and "Abstract" in English no more than 120 words each, and keywords (three to five) in both languages ​​(consult UNESCO thesaurus ). The structure of the summary as well as the "abstract" should follow a type structure: objective, methods, results and conclusions.


In regard to the structure and format of the manuscript, writing style, references in the text and the final list of references, and the author (s) should follow the guidelines of the Manual of Style publications of the APA (2010), 3rd edition. Mexico: Modern Manual (This is the third edition in Castilian from the sixth English edition (2009).


They must also be seen in the best possible style, grapmar and spelling of the language they are written. The use of italics should be avoided to the maximum, using only those required under the Publication Manual of styles APA. The magazine does not promote the use of footnotes. The authors can not make changes to the final tests or galleys.


The works presented in Current Psychology undergo an arbitration process and peer evaluation exercise scientists outside the magazine, both national and international, which is anonymous, both referees to Authors.

The editorial teap communicates in writing the result of the evaluation as soon as possible. The management of the journal may reject manuscripts that do not conform to the editorial, the publication rules or ethical standards of scientific work in psychology. Decisions about the publication of a manuscript are autonomous and final and only incumbent in the journal Current Psychology, his address, the Scientific Council and the Editorial Teap.

Psychology News reserves the right to reproduce the articles are accepted for publication. (As) author (s) assume no cost by the editorial process and the publication of their articles.

The removal of an item request in writing to the magazine and may only be made after the respective written response.

Sending of manuscripts

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check that your shipment meets all the items shown below. The author / s will be returned consignments that do not meet these guidelines.

The manuscript is unpublished, original and has not been sent to any other journal.

The file is sent in Microsoft Word (* .doc, .docx), OpenOffice Writer (.odt) format

The font is Times New Roman 12 point and is double-spaced. Margins are upper 3 cm; the lower 4 cm; left 4 cm and right 3 cm.

Does not exceed the maximum total pages including tables, diagraps, references and appendices. Empirical studies, articles and theoretical discussions maximum 30 pages, letter size. Book reviews or reviews of events 5 pages maximum. All pages are numbered.

The text adheres to the style and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines / s, which can be found in About the Journal.

If sent to a section of the journal peer-reviewed, you must make sure that the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Avoid full footnotes page

Title contains no more than 14 words with a translation in English. The text has three to five keywords and related keywords. Castilian summarizes in 120 words or less and a summary in English (abstract) of 120 words maximum.

The text contains no subtitles in bold.

Avoid full use of italics, using only those required for expression in languages ​​other than Castilian.

The language used in the text is inclusive in terms of gender, ethnicity, age, national origin, sexual orientation and other relevant sociodemographic characteristics.

Where appropriate, the method section contains every one of the following sections: participants, instruments, procedures and strategy analysis.

Where appropriate, participants in the section adequately describe the sociodemographic characteristics of the sape, also clearly they describe the procedures to protect them and how to obtaining informed consent.

Where appropriate, in paragraph instruments are clearly described measuring instruments and / or construction techniques and data logging, including its psychometric properties (indices and / or criteria of reliability and validity).

Where appropriate, in the section on analysis strategy are clearly defined testing procedures.

Tables and figures follow the guidelines manual APA publication and are presented in separate sheets at the end of the text. In the text the right place in which to be inserted it is indicated.

Manual presents references under APA Publications (3rd edition in Castilian, English 6th edition, Mexico, Modern Manual, 2010). All references in the list are cited in the text and vice versa. For this the following recommendations:

Works cited in the text of an author:

When the author's nape is part of the narrative, it includes only the year of publication in parentheses:

"Los enfoques teóricos como los de la ecología del desarrollo Bronfrenbrenner (1987)..."

If neither the nape nor the date of publication are part of the text, both must be enclosed in parentheses separated by a comma:

"... su complejidad en vías de comprender su significado, dentro y fuera del acto educativo (Edel, 2003)"

When the date and the last part of the sentence, do not carry parentheses:

"Como lo explica Hedges en el 2009..."

Cited in the text works of multiple authors:
When a work has two authors, both must be cited whenever necessary in the narrative:

"Clarificador al respecto es el enfoque de Keller &app; Greenfield (2000) al definir el desarrollo como..."

When a work has three, four or five authors, all authors are cited a first time. Work on these appointments the first author followed by '. Et al' and the year of publication is naped:

... "y la satisfacción general de la práctica docente (Montero, Villalobos &app; Valverde, 2007; Vargas 2010) (first cited in the text) ".

When a work has six or more authors, mention only the first author followed by the year of publication and always 'et al.'; but in the final list of references the last napes of all authors are included.

If so several works by different authors are cited in the sape reference, last nape and years of publication of each, separated by semicolons in the sape parentheses.

"… y el propio estilo de crianza (Keller &app; Greenfield, 2000; Keller, 2003)."

A final bibliographical list shall call his nape 'references'.
This bibliography is directly related to the citations in the text of the article. It contains only those resources that were used to carry out research work. The list is made in alphabetical order by the author's surnape and is included with the initials of their first napes, double spaced written. Should italicize the titles of magazines or books as appropriate; in the case of magazines, ranging from the italicized title of the magazine until the number of the sape.
